Students took an interactive field trip to the San Francisco Public Works Operations Yard. It was an opportunity for students to gain some hands-on experience while learning how San Francisco maintains its infrastructure. Students took part in a variety of activities including building a wooden planter box with City carpenters, filling sample potholes under the guidance of asphalt workers, riding in the bucket of the arborists’ truck, seeing equipment up-close and more. It was a fun way for students to see what goes into keeping up the City’s infrastructure.
